Over to the coast of France again - 45 nautical miles to Cherbourg in glorious weather and wind..
The harbor is packed when we leave at 7 in the morning, so we're glad we're where we are. We fill up on duty-free diesel (half price!) and set sail as soon as we're out.
It will be the most beautiful sailing we have ever had. Brilliant weather, 6-8 m/s, tailwind and full sail! Logging over 13 knots as we go through the "Race de Alderney" through some incredible eddies. (see video below)
Arriving at Chantereyne Marina in Cherbourg, we see that the entire fleet of the "Rolex Fastnet Race" is gathered in various ports in the city. An incredible amount of cool sailboats that we encounter on our trip to the center of food and action.
The town itself isn't super exciting, but we get to take a walk around and have a look. A bit of a long way back to the boat with x number of bags of food and drinks, but now we have enough provisions
for a while!
