Through the Kiel Canal, under the Great Belt and navigating blindly!

We have to get home, then another leg of 150 nm. Unfortunately with some challenging weather.

It is a very gray and wet day when we wake up. We keep a good speed through the canal, and meet one big boat after another. Quite boring to drive the Kiel Canal in such sad weather, but we study the wildlife in the canal and have a little snack.

Arriving in Kiel we are first in the lock and first out. We thunder on further north into Denmark and meet Color Line on our way.

We pass the bridge on the Storebelt a little before midnight, just when we also have some dry weather. A great experience to sail under such a structure as the sun sets.

We have to take more distance to get home on time, and choose to go to the natural harbor of Korshavn on Funen. We regret this as we get closer.

It is raining heavily, it is pitch dark, and it is difficult to navigate to get into the harbor. A new challenge arises when we have entered the harbor and are about to anchor. It is so dark that we can see nothing, and have no idea where other boats may be!

There are two happy people when we notice that the anchor is set and we can go to bed for a few hours after traveling 150 nm, but we don't want to experience this again.

Hello,

Thank you for stopping by!

Hi, our names are Ida and Anders.

This is the story of how we, with completely different backgrounds and experiences from sea life, work together towards our great goal.

This page tries to collect our experiences at sea as a family. From the humble beginnings of renting a boat in Croatia, our first own boat, Step by Step, to our new boat, Vue Mer II.

The goal is for the family to embark on a sailing trip on the seven seas within a few years.
