New dream day!
We are out of the harbor in Svaneke a little before four in the morning, completely flat water and calm wind in the cockpit when we start the engine. The sun rises and soon shines from a cloudless sky.
We arrive at our destination, Utklippän, at 11 o'clock. Utklippän is an outpost in the sea and consists of two islands, Norraskär and Södraskär. The first lighthouse on the island was built during the Napoleonic Wars in the early 19th century. The lighthouse that stands here now was completed in 1870. The harbor was originally built as a harbor of refuge for fishermen, and was completed in 1942. This is a harbor where it should preferably be quiet when you enter, as there are both many shoals and a relatively narrow entrance.
When we enter the narrow entrance we are greeted by a joyful sight, it is almost empty and we can choose the spot we want! (it should fill up nicely during the day and evening).
A really cool place right out to sea, well protected. We enjoy the place and the day with a barbecue on the back of the boat, we go for walks on land, Olivia rows us over to the neighboring island and we try to catch crabs. Luckily, someone tells us later that there are no crabs in brackish water! (The Baltic Sea) - so we go shrimp fishing instead. And last but not least, Olivia swims in 13 degree water!
This is a place we will never forget, and definitely one of our all time favorite places!
