We enjoy the harbor, and get ready for the Göta Canal

Once again the rain has let up during the night, and we wake up to a glorious morning in Kupaklint.

We decide to stay in the lovely harbor for a while and enjoy ourselves. The ladies go paddling and the kids row on their own, and finish with a swim in 14 degrees! A summer idyll in the harbor is one of the best!

The skippers are testing the underwater drone to see if Tu Can Tango has any damage to the keel after running aground a few days ago - fortunately it looks completely fine!

Eventually we have to move on and set course for Mem which is our starting port on the journey through the Göta Canal. It is only a three hour trip, and at four o'clock we arrive at the port. All the port books say that there is diesel refueling here, but that turns out to be wrong. The nearest place is actually 45 minutes back from where we came. We don't have much left, so we decide to go back. But we haven't gone more than a couple of hundred meters out from the pier before we are surprised by a very heavy rain shower with a gust of 15 -17 m/s - we don't bother with this and we turn around quickly and head back to the pier. We have a spare can in the boat so it will last. We check in and get our review of the rules and tips from the canal guard.

The evening will be spent on a trip ashore and to read up on what we're going to do tomorrow. It's going to be exciting!

Hello,

Thank you for stopping by!

Hi, our names are Ida and Anders.

This is the story of how we, with completely different backgrounds and experiences from sea life, work together towards our great goal.

This page tries to collect our experiences at sea as a family. From the humble beginnings of renting a boat in Croatia, our first own boat, Step by Step, to our new boat, Vue Mer II.

The goal is for the family to embark on a sailing trip on the seven seas within a few years.
