Departing from Karlsborg, we start the day with a 1/2 hour boat trip before arriving at the first lock of the day - Forsvik. This lock is the oldest on the canal and was completed in 1813!

When we come out of the lock, we are also at the highest point of the canal - 91.8 m above sea level! It is a beautiful area we are walking through with very narrow canals that run right in the middle of the forest. It is almost so that we can reach out and pick blueberries!

The weather eventually becomes absolutely superb, and when we reach the next lock we go downhill for the first time! Definitely much easier to handle. At the same time, the terrain opens up completely.

Just before 6:00 PM we arrive at today's harbor - Norkvarn. A very cozy place. The children swim in over 22 degrees and we adults enjoy a GT on the pier. We will also have a good dinner here.

Tomorrow we will try our hand at the breakfast buffet, and then the last locks in the Göta Canal and out into Lake Vänern.

PS! We also pass 13 bridges on our way!

Hello,

Thank you for stopping by!

Hi, our names are Ida and Anders.

This is the story of how we, with completely different backgrounds and experiences from sea life, work together towards our great goal.

This page tries to collect our experiences at sea as a family. From the humble beginnings of renting a boat in Croatia, our first own boat, Step by Step, to our new boat, Vue Mer II.

The goal is for the family to embark on a sailing trip on the seven seas within a few years.
